Dear sirs,

My question is, how much silver is in 40% and 90% silver Kennedy half dollars? 1/3 oz? 1/4oz? And how much are they worth each in silver?

Thank you.

Thank you for the question.

Each 1964 Half Dollar contains .36169 oz of pure silver. At today's spot value of $28.25 for an ounce of silver the value for each half dollar would equate to $10.21.

Silver half dollars from the years 1965-1970 are known as 40% clad halves. They each contain .1479 oz of pure silver. That equates to a value of $4.18 each.
