Metro has released a tentative list of road closures for New Year’s Eve.
Downtown will begin to close down at 5 p.m. and The Fremont Street experience will close to the public around that time. Metro said roadways will start to reopen around 3 a.m. on New Years Day
Freeway off-ramps to strip close at 5:30. Officers will begin to close freeway ramps to The Strip area at that time.
Here is a list of all road closurse.
DOWNTOWN/FREMONT STREET
5:00 p.m. - Fremont Street Experience closed to Public.
6:00 p.m. - Fremont Street gates open for entertainment.
LAS VEGAS BLVD (STRIP)
5:30 p.m. - Closing of freeway off ramps. (NHP/NDOT)
6:00 p.m. - All walkways, elevators and escalators shut off.
6:15 p.m. - Traffic officers start closure of Las Vegas Blvd.
6:30 p.m. - Las Vegas Blvd closed to vehicle traffic.
6:30 p.m. - Inbound roads to Las Vegas Blvd are cleared.
12:00 a.m. - 12:15 am Fireworks show Strip and Fremont Street.
12:15 a.m. - Walkways and escalators to be re-opened.
1:00 a.m. - 1:30 a.m. All celebrations normally subside. Barricades are moved.
2:00 a.m. - Street sweepers begin clean up.
3:00 a.m. - 4a.m. Begin re-opening.
