Las Vegas' number one news team is looking for an aggressive hard-charging reporter. Our ideal candidate can't wait to get to a local government meeting and come away with the real story; is versatile enough to cover breaking news and pull off a live shot that sizzles; and digs enough to bring enterprising leads to our morning meeting. We ask a lot, but in return, we give you a great team to work with. We're number one because we take news seriously, and expect you do, also. This is not a job for a beginner: we need someone with three years’ experience, and whose reel shows us they really know how to tell a story. Typical Duties:
Generate story ideas and write scripts using iNews; Conduct live and taped reports for newscasts;
Conduct interviews; operate various types of electronic equipment such as newsroom computer systems;
Carry equipment (tripod, microphones, etc.) and perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.
Requirements:
College degree and 3 years previous experience;
Ability to make extensive news contacts and maintain highest journalistic standards;
Equally skilled at hard news and features; strong live skills essential;
Must deal in pressure situations, demonstrate good news judgment and maintain a good attitude.
On-call when assigned.
Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license with no DUI convictions or able to obtain one within 30 days with a clean driving record.
