Elizabeth was a news and political reporter at WAVE-TV in Louisville for five years where she won 11 awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. Those stories include the trial for attempted extortion of University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino. She has been nominated for three Emmys for spot news, health/science, and sports news reporting. She has also placed in the AP awards for investigative, continuous coverage, spot news, and political reporting for the election of tea party candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). She covered the Kentucky Derby six times, including the year Queen Elizabeth of England attended.
Before Louisville Elizabeth was at WCAV/WVAW/WAHU-TV in Charlottesville, VA. While starting out, she worked for MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” and the ABC Owned Television group in Washington, DC. She was also a reporter for Torrance CitiCABLE Channel 3 and USC’s Annenberg TV News where she covered events like the California Recall Election and Kobe Bryant trial.
Elizabeth enjoys watching college football—Go Trojans! She enjoys outdoor activities, the theater, and traveling.
