Randy comes to News 3 after spending the last few winters in Duluth, MN. Brrrrrrr...

Needless to say, as an avid golfer there wasn't much of an opportunity to play the sport there for six months out of the year and since he grew up in Colorado, he didn't really see any reason to live in a place where it snowed so much but didn't have any mountains to ski on. Not to mention it always seemed to hit -60 below zero every winter, SERIOUSLY! 

So Randy packed up and headed out west, to return to Las Vegas after spending nearly every vacation there for 15 years because his parents moved to the big L-V in 1991.

For the last 13 years of his career, Randy has had the pleasure of covering less publicized sporting events and stories ranging from professional rodeo, "Cole Slaw Wrestling" at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally during his stay in Rapid City, South Dakota to dog sled races, snowmobile racing (winter, spring and summer- yes it's weird they're called Sled Freaks), and a lot of Hockey while working in Minnesota.

Nevertheless, Randy is happy to be back in Las Vegas near his family and covering the many different sporting events that call Southern Nevada home. In his spare time Randy enjoys playing basketball, skiing (water and snow), or just hanging out at the lake (hopefully with his Seadoo next summer).
