LAS VEGAS -- The Animal Foundation, Nevada’s largest open-admission animal shelter and pet adoption center, is encouraging pet owners to give a dog a forever home for the holidays by offering $50 off mixed breed dogs December 1-8 during its Mutt Week celebration.

Mutt Week discounts are offered as The Animal Foundation celebrates the 1-year anniversary of the opening of their PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center. Located inside PetSmart in Henderson, the Everyday Adoption Center houses more than 40 dogs and cats and frees up space at The Animal Foundation’s main location. Since the Grand Opening on December 1, 2012, more than 1,300 cats and dogs have found their forever homes at the Henderson location.

“We hope interested adopters will join us in celebrating the 1 year anniversary of our PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center by adopting a shelter mutt,” said Meghan Scheibe, marketing manager for The Animal Foundation. “Mixedbreed dogs make amazing companions, and we encourage those looking for a new furry family member to visit one of our Adoption Centers to give a great dog a home in time for the holidays.”

The Mutt Week discounted dog adoptions are valid at the Campus Adoption Center (655 N. Mojave Road, Las Vegas), the PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center (286 W. Lake Mead Pkwy, Henderson) and all offsite adoption events December 1-8 on dogs listed as mixes.
