LAS VEGAS -- Parents in Clark County can now apply their children for free and reduced-price school lunches for the 2012 school year. The Free and Reduced Lunch program allows low-income parents to receive government aid for school lunches. Free and reduced-price breakfasts are also available.
The FRL form must be filled out annually, even if a household qualified last year. Many parents mistakenly think that once an application has been approved, it continues to be valid every subsequent year. However, a new application – specific to each school year – must be completed and submitted to the Food Service Department through the school, U.S. Mail or online.
Applications are available at schools, at the Galleria Mall back to school fair, and at the official website,
