LAS VEGAS --
Jumpstart's Read for the Record, presented in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, is a world-record-breaking campaign that brings together children and adults to read the same book on the same day, October 4.
This year's official campaign book is Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad by David Soman and Jacky Davis.
Every family, library, and classroom in the nation can read Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad for free online at We Give Books
a digital reading initiative from the Pearson Foundation and the Penguin Group that offers a free library of digital children's books.
For every digital book read, the Pearson Foundation will donate a book to a child who needs it, helping to reach the campaign goal of giving a million books by the end of this school year.
We Give Books is a new digital initiative that enables anyone with access to the Internet to put books in the hands of children who don't have them, simply by reading online.
We Give Books combines the joy of reading with the power of helping others, providing a platform for caregivers and educators to inspire children to become lifelong readers and lifelong givers.
