LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks attended a pre-session budget hearing today in Carson City.
Brooks, who was arrested Saturday for making threats of physical harm against Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick, was taken by special escort from the airport to Carson City, according to KRNV in Reno.
Kirkpatrick is also on this committee.
Brooks posted bail on Sunday but, according to his attorney, was quickly admitted to a hospital for an internal disorder.
He was released last night and early today boarded a plane to Reno.
Brooks has said nothing about his arrest other than a brief comment he gave News 3 that he is “prayerful.”
The arrest report prepared by North Las Vegas police detailed some of the events that led up to the arrest.
It also talked about how brook's wife, Ada, was concerned for his mental well-being.
Police said they found a loaded .357 magnum in his car, and 41 rounds of ammunition.
Brooks has a court hearing scheduled Jan. 28. Since Brooks is a state official, the Clark County District Attorney’s office decided Tuesday to hand the case over to the attorney general.
