LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — An American Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Chicago headed back to McCarran International Airport this afternoon after the pilots reported “engine concerns.”
McCarran spokeswoman Christine Crews said American Airlines Flight 2224 landed without incident or injury.
The flight had been used for an earlier flight from Chicago to McCarran. American Airlnes spokesman Ken Powell said the plane was taken out of service.
There were 114 passengers and five crew members on the aircraft, a DC-9, according to Powell. They are expected to leave McCarran for Chicago's O'Hare International Airport at 8 p.m.
