LAS VEGAS -- Three people escaped injury early this morning in an apartment fire in east Las Vegas.
The fire, which was reported at 3:45 a.m., caused $75,000 in damage at 2785 Twistingbow Lane near the intersection of Vegas Valley and Mountain Vista.
Clark County firefighters reported that a second-story apartment was fully involved when they arrived. They were able to attack the fire and keep it from spreading to nearby apartments and buildings. Holes were cut in the roof and multiple hose lines were extended to the burning apartment. Despite a partial roof collapse, the efforts were enough to keep the fire contained to one apartment.
Three occupants were displaced by the fire and found shelter with family or friends. No injuries were reported from the occupants or the 44 firefighters who responded. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and the North Las Vegas Fire Department assisted in fighting the fire.
The Clark County Fire Department's investigation division is investigating the fire.
