Attempted ATM theft leaves video evidence for investigators

LAS VEGAS -- Another crime ring hits our valley. This time, ATM thieves and they're still on the run. Crime tracker 3's Marie Mortera has video of the crime caught on camera.

Police say it's a smash and grab operation taken to another level.

LVMPD Detectives are currently investigating an attempted ATM theft that occurred on August 11 at 2:59 a.m. in the 7800 block of West Sahara Avenue.

Surveillance video of the incident shows a vehicle driven to the front of the business, followed by two suspects smashing out the front door.

The suspects enter the business, tie a strap around the ATM and attempt to pull the ATM out of the business. Detectives believe the suspects may be responsible for at least four other similar
incidents.

Suspect number one is described as white male adult, 20 to 30 years of age, standing approximately 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds.

Suspect number two is described as a white male adult, 25 to 40 years of age, standing approximately 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. The driver remains in the vehicle and is not seen.

The suspect vehicles are described as a red box style, older model pickup truck converted into a tow truck. The second suspect vehicle is described as a white pickup truck.
