LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A hearing will be held today on a lawsuit filed by Las Vegas Township Constable John Bonaventura against Clark County Commissioners in an attempt to prevent them from abolishing the constable's office.
The hearing will be held one day before the commissioners were set to discuss eliminating Bonaventura's job.
In the lawsuit, Bonaventura is seeking to challenge the commissioners' arguments, calling to remove his office.
Bonaventura was also arrested last month and charged with drunken driving after he failed a field sobriety test. The Clark County district attorney’s office declined to indict Bonaventura.
