Buck defeated in North Las Vegas mayoral race, Hafen re-elected mayor of Henderson

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- North Las Vegas is getting a new mayor. With 100 percent reporting, John Lee wins with 53 percent of the vote.

Shari Buck (i)        3,248     35.5%

Mike Hunter           537        5.9%

John Lee               4,909     53.6%

Lee defeats incumbent Mayor Shari Buck for the position, and inherits a city that has struggled with major budget challenges the past few years.

In the Henderson mayoral race Mayor Andy Hafen will enjoy another term in office. Hafen easily surpassed that magic 50 percent plus one mark to keep the job and avoid a runoff in general election.
