LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The Clark County Coroner on Thursday identified the driver ofthe cement truck who was killed in Wednesday crash as 44-year-old Richard Wood.
Wood was killed and three others were injured Wednesday afternoon after a cement truck overturned on East Summerlin Parkway near North Rampart Boulevard.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson says two Metro on-duty officers in a pickup truck were involved in the accident. Tim Syzmanski of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue says the cement truck hit the pickup, went down a 20-foot embankment and caught on fire. A person put out the fire with an extinguisher.
One person was injured by cut glass trying to get to the driver of the cement truck.
Both Metro officers were transported to UMC.
Rescue crews remain on the scene. Summerlin Parkway is closed from Anasazi to Town Center.
