NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday for two local teenagers involved in a deadly New Year’s car crash.
Jesse Hill, 18, and Anne Marie Ricci, 16, were taking photos on a sidewalk in North Las Vegas when they were hit by a car driven by another teenager.
Hill died from his injuries. Ricci’s older brother says she is still in the ICU but responding
Their peers at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy organized a gathering to celebrate one life and support another.
The school will hold a Miracle Minute Fundraiser on Thursday to help Anne Marie's hospital costs.
North Las Vegas police say the driver in the car crash, Cristian Diaz, will likely face additional felony charges. Police say he was speeding when his car hit the two teens, and say his passenger was seen throwing a bag of marijuana out the car.
