LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- There may be a compromise near concerning Jim Rhodes' highly controversial proposed development overlooking Red Rock Canyon.
The Gypsum Mine Property on Blue Diamond Hill in the far west part of the valley boasts spectacular views, but the people who live nearby are worried it will interrupt the national treasure.
The debate -- to build or not to build -- has been going on for years. Currently Rhodes can build more than 4,000 homes, but there are many conditions.
Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager has proposed a land swap.
Brager doesn't have the authority to decide what parcel of land to swap but thinks she can get a resolution through the County Commission, and would then contact the federal delegation and Bureau of Land Management, who must be on board.
Commissioners will take up the issue of the Gypsum Mine Property at their meeting Tuesday morning at the government center.
