I think what the headline is meant to convey is that the coroner has confirmed that yes, it is Kenneth Cherry Jr. (aspiring rapper) who was killed--since previously it was not official but his identity was known. The wording is totally confusing and misleading though. Like, the coroner, based on his extensive autopsy, has medical evidence to verify that he was a rapper. I have to say, I've seen the word "Maserati" more times than I've seen the victim's name. Like, in the article which is all of about 4 short paragraphs, why does the phrase "the driver of the Maserati" appear back to back in the first and second paragraphs? I can barely stand to pick up the local newspaper. Honestly, my 6 year old can write better than some of the reporters. Of course, none of this is important. What's important is the tragedy, and catching the person(s) responsible.

Too Short of time since tragedy to be drawing conclusions.

I've heard more about the car than about the person. Like, if he was in a Ford Focus, would that have been the point of emphasis. Vegas is so desperate for PR they're basically jumping up and down going "Hey look someone important was here and they had a fancy car too! What happens here stays here even your corpse amirite!?!"
