NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- News 3’s Mackenzie Warren has learned Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins is under investigation.
District Attorney Steve Wolfson tells News 3 his office was contacted by the North Las Vegas Police Department regarding an “illegal shooting" incident involving a public official.
Police are investigating whether Collins was illegally discharging a firearm on the night of July 3. News 3 contacted Collins, who says, "nothing happened." Collins says North Las Vegas Police officers were in his neighborhood that night, but denies firing a gun or coming into direct contact with officers.
No charges have been filed pending an investigation by North Las Vegas Police; the department will forward its findings to Wolfson.
