SANDY VALLEY (KSNV & MyNews3.com) -- Driving under the influences charges are possible following an early Sunday pickup rollover that killed a 29-year-old Las Vegas man.
Trooper Loy Hixson of the Nevada Highway Patrol said a 1999 GMC pickup with a driver and two passengers lost control shortly before 7 a.m. today on State Route 160 near Lovell Canyon Road about midway between Pahrump and Las Vegas.
The pickup was traveling south on 160 when it crossed the center median near mile marker 26 and overturned in the northbound lane.
One male passenger was ejected and died at the scene. The driver, 27, was not injured nor was a second passenger, 30. All three men are Las Vegas residents.
"The driver went and did a voluntary blood draw, but was not charged with DUI yet," Hixson said. "That decision will be up to the district attorney."
