LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A Las Vegas man already in custody and suspected of using his position as a volunteer Bible study leader to assault children now faces additional charges.
David James, 29, was charged Sunday with nine additional counts of lewdness with a minor under 14. The investigation into the originating cases revealed James had been a participant in a basketball league that included players ranging in age from 7 to adult. The investigation is also focusing on the possibility James was involved in other youth- and adult-related sports activities.
Additionally, investigators continue to seek other potential victims of James.
Metro officers arrested James in January on 22 counts involving lewdness with a minor.
Shortly after that arrest, Henderson Police Detectives received allegations of similar crimes. and rebooked by Henderson Police on charges of 10 counts of lewdness with a minor under 14 and four counts of sexual assault.
James remains in custody.
