LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- We will learn Gov. Brian Sandoval's agenda for the next two years as he delivers the State of the State address and unveils his budget plan.

This will be Sandoval's second State of the State speech, and the changes the governor has experienced are intense.

Two years ago, Sandoval was replacing an unpopular governor in Jim Gibbons and came in riding a wave of support, especially from conservatives and northern Nevada.

Over the past two years, Sandoval has moved toward the center, and he's already announced he will go along with a request from the left to continue a number of taxes that were scheduled to expire.

While he's the experienced one, Sandoval will have to work and compromise with a group of new Democratic leaders.

Some from southern Nevada say it's time to rewrite the funding formula that divides money for schools, saying the current formula favors rural districts while more money should be going to bigger districts like Clark County.

That could lead to a north-south battle over school funding, just the latest issue dividing the two halves of the state.
