HENDERSON (KSNV MyNews3) -- If you've had your fill of all that Halloween candy -- or if you don't want to keep the temptation around the house -- why not make it a treat for service members.

Nellis Air Force Base will conduct "Operation Gratitude" from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Chenin Orthodontics, 10730 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson.

You will get $1 for every pound of leftover candy you donate -- up to 5 pounds.

Those sweets will then be boxed up and shipped to troops overseas.
