HENDERSON, Nev. (KSNV & MyNews3) -- News 3's Tom Hawley was working for a local helicopter company when the Pepcon rocket fuel plant exploded in 1988.

There were very similar images to the blast in Texas.

By all accounts, the disaster at the Pacific Engineering Production Company of Nevada (PEPCON) plant looked, sounded and felt a lot like the fertilizer plant explosion in West Texas Wednesday night.

In this report, Hawley recall the events around the May 1988 plant explostion.

News 3's Elizabeth Donatelli has been looking into Clark County zoning laws and has found things have changed in Las Vegas over the last quarter century.
