An early morning fire on Sunday has temporarily shut down a Las Vegas business where time really is money. The Universal Watch company ships jewelry out of their warehouse throughout the country. News 3's Sergio Avila is in the newsroom -- the timing of this fire couldn't be worse. For any business the holidays are the busiest time of the year so the owner tells us this fire has hit them hard.

An early Sunday fire caused $1 million in damage to a Las Vegas watch company.

Clark County firefighters joined Las Vegas Fire & Rescue staffers to fight the 1:03 a.m. blaze at 5016 Schuster, located near Tropicana and I-15 northwest of McCarran International Airport.

Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke and fire showing and requested a second alarm. The fire was concentrated in the warehouse section of a commerical office/warehouse. The roof collapsed shortly after the first units arrived. Crews got the fire under control after about 30 minutes.

Eighteen units and 50 firefighters battled the fire. There were no injuries. The cause remains under investigation.
