LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – A fire this morning at Villa de Oro Mobile Home Park caused extensive damage. There were no reported injuries.
Tim Syzmanski of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue says calls came in just before 7 a.m. at the double-wide home in the 4500 block of East Owens Avenue, near North Lamb Boulevard.
The home, with a large concrete-block wall garage attached, is situated at the park’s entrance and was used as the office and maintenance facility. Currently the facility is vacant. A new manager was recently assigned to the park and was planning to move in.
Firefighters had the fire under control in less than 15 minutes. No other mobile homes in the park were affected.
The fire destroyed the garage portion of the building and gutted the inside of the mobile home. Damage was estimated at $50,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
