NORTH LAS VEGAS -- City Manager Timothy R. Hacker announced Monday that Fire Chief Al Gillespie’s employment with the City has come to an end.

Gillespie served as chief of the City’s Fire Department for the past 7 years and five months. The details of Gillespie’s departure are a personnel matter and therefore confidential.

Gillespie was on paid administrative leave for the past three weeks.

Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan served as acting fire chief in Gillespie’s absence and will remain the City’s acting fire chief until further notice.
