NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- News 3 on Wednesday reported that North Las Vegas City Manager Tim Hacker quit his job.

Today, News 3's Mackenzie Warren was the only reporter in Las Vegas to get the answers we all want to hear from the outgoing city manager.

Hacker says no, he was not pushed out--but Hacker says he read the tea leaves.

Hacker says he did not want to stand in the way of a new mayor and his new vision for North Las Vegas.

Mayor John Lee has not been in office for long--but long enough for both of them to know: they were two different people--with two different management styles.

But had Hacker been planning his exit since the new mayor was put in office? When Mayor Lee was elected, Hacker said he had his concerns.

“That’s always a concern as city manager,” Hacker said. “Having been in local government for 25 years, I’ve seen effects an election can have. I thought we had enough stability. I was hoping could continue the progress. But, again when you have philosophical differences or when a new mayor comes in and has a different vision or new vision, sometimes this is just the outcome.”
