SANDY VALLEY (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Congressman Joe Heck made a trip to the small rural community of Sandy Valley Friday morning to talk politics.
The town hall's main focus was on immigration reform and health care. News 3’s Sergio Avila reports from the Sandy Valley Community Center.
Of the 25 people who showed up, most wanted to know about his stance on immigration reform.
Heck says he believes it’s time to fix the system but wants the focus on border security, creating a viable guest worker program and eliminating incentives for people who cross illegally into the country.
He said there are too many issues in the senate version of immigration reform.
He feels the best way to tackle the issue would be to create smaller pieces of legislation that deal with specific topics instead of having a blanket bill.
Although it's a small community visit, Heck was being followed by a huge Super PAC from Washington, D.C., that was videotaping and making sure Heck doesn't slip up.
