HENDERSON (KSNV MyNews3) -- The city of Henderson and developer Chris Milam reached a tentative settlement Tuesday in the battle over land near the M Resort.
The city filed a lawsuit against Milam and some of his associates, accusing them of trying to defraud the city after discovering Milam intended to sell the land for residential use instead developing the land for a stadium complex he had originally proposed.
Henderson had previously pushed the Bureau of Land Management to sell the land at a lower price.
The settlement has developers paying the city $250,000, then an additional $4.25 million.
If developers accept the deal, the city would then allow the land sale to close but would still retain zoning rights.
Also part of the deal, Milam would no longer be involved in the sale and be barred from doing other business with the city.
