LAS VEGAS -- When lawmakers and Gov. Brian Sandoval touted a package of education overhauls two years ago that were set to change the face of education in Nevada, they expected the key piece of the project -- a high-stakes teacher evaluation -- to be ready to go this year.

Fast forward to 2013. While many working the project say things are going swimmingly, tying student test scores to evaluations that could decide which teachers get promoted and which get the boot is taking longer than expected.

The Nevada Teachers and Leaders Council is now backing a bill that would delay the date the system goes into effect by two years so officials can phase in the evaluations and see whether they work as they're intended.

It appears to me that there should be some measure for teacher effectiveness. The governor and legislature were right to support such measures.

Teachers are like politicians, They will never take responsibility and will delay or bury anything that holds them accountable. We now live in a world of deniability!

What does Sandoval know about a teachers capability.??? Nothng!!! Besides a person performing a duty of any sort, "Can only work with the product quality they have to work with and with students, "Education begains at Home. But parents obivious to such a criteria.
