LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Sam Hornish overtook hometown favorite Kyle Busch with just six laps to go Saturday to win the Sam's Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The two were pretty much tied on a restart on Lap 194 when Busch pulled ahead when the green flag dropped. Hornish regained the front position and held on for the last six laps to win the race. It was Hornish's second career Nationwide Series victory.
Brian Vickers finished third in a race held under mostly sunny skies and cool conditions.
The Kobalt Tools 400 -- the main event of NASCAR weekend -- starts at noon Sunday. Brad Keselowski will start on the pole, having been awarded the position based on points because Friday's qualifying was washed out.
