LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Hundreds rallied and marched through downtown Las Vegas Sunday pushing for immigration reform.

The march and rally went from Fremont and Main and ended near the federal courthouse.

Various groups gathered with some form of unity throughout most of the afternoon, rallying for the federal government to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

They came from all generations and held American flags, showing pride to live in the United States.

While immigration is a complicated issue, the main concern among this crowd was not tearing families apart.

Astrid Silva, an undocumented student, also has been monitoring the proposed dream act as a path to citizenship for young people.

“It was something that affected us at the college level, but we're starting to see that Congress has been working on comprehensive immigration reform that would really help everybody whose here without papers,” she said, “because most of the time it’s because of circumstances of the system being broken, not necessarily the people.”

The activists say expect more marches and rallies in the coming months, including one in Washington.

Has nothing to do with discrimination at all. The undocumented also come from those who came here legally and let there visas expire. There is no luxury either. If Americans are going to complain about immigration educate yourselves regarding this topic. The undocumented come many walks of life, not only from the border. So, instead of listening to all the hate rederick about immigration and assuming what its about. Education is key. In case your wondering due to my name. I am an American.

How many hundreds? More news from the "I want my free stuff" crowd and I want other people to pay for it. You know, we actually do already have an immigration system. With that, you apply and wait in line just like everyone else in the world who is dying to come here but they don't have the luxury of having been born here illegally, nor do they have the luxury of walking over a border. The so-called reform discriminates against people who are not geographically able to get here so easily.
