LAS VEGAS — Ride for Reading, a Tennessee-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting literacy and healthy living by distributing books to children from low-income areas, is back in Las Vegas.

More than 100 bicyclists will deliver 3,000 books, donated by Better World Books, to more than 600 students this morning at Jack Dailey Elementary School as part of the organization’s third annual Ride for Reading Interbike book delivery.

Led by police motorcade, the three-mile ride began at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department substation parking lot at 4860 South Las Vegas Blvd., where bicyclists and volunteers spent the morning stuffing bags, backpacks and wagons full of books.

The book delivery is taking place during Las Vegas’ annual Interbike International Bicycle Expo, North America’s largest bicycle trade show.
