LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Much to the delight of motorists, fuel prices have dropped below $3 a gallon at nearly two dozen Las Vegas gas stations.
According to consumer reports filed with gasbuddy.com, the 7-Eleven at 405 E. Silverado Ranch near Bermuda Road was selling regular gas for $2.939 a gallon today. Nearly two dozen other stations were at $2.999 or lower.
Gas has not been below $3 a gallon for at least two years. The high of $4.278 a gallon was reached three months ago on Oct. 11, 2012.
Industry officials say gas supplies have been ample because demand has been low. Those factors have kept prices in a downward trend that is expected to continue for a few more weeks.
Prices typically decline in Las Vegas until February when driving demand increases after the winter months.
