LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- The Clark County coroner's office has identified the victim of a Thursday night shooting and ruled that the shooting was a homicide.

Las Vegas resident Brandon Kuhn, 32, died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Metro has arrested 32-year-old Troy Martinez in connection with the shooting.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Amolita Avenue near Interstate 215 and Wigwam Avenue.

A preliminary investigation initiated by Metro homicide detectives indicated the victim was visiting Martinez at his residence when an altercation ensued. Investigators believe Martinez was able to retrieve a handgun and shot the victim during the altercation. Martinez was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he faces the charge of murder with a deadly weapon.
