Local Red Cross helps several residents after weekend fires

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The American Red Cross had a busy weekend responding to several fires and assisting displaced residents.

On Saturday, one adult was assisted after an apartment fire in the 3900 block of South Jones near Flamingo. Two adults and a child were helped after a home fire in the 900 block of Brush Street, near Decatur and Charleston. One adult needed aid after a fire in the 6100 block of Mount McKinley, near Nellis and Lake Mead.

On Sunday, the Red Cross helped two adults after fire in the 300 block on North 13th Street, near Bonanza and Las Vegas Boulevard North. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said the fire might have been caused by a lightning strike.

This morning, one adult received aid after an attic fire in an apartment near Paradise and Twain.

The Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross responds to a local disaster on average every 30 hours.
