LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada state lawmaker Lucy Flores has won the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.
The two-term assemblywoman from Las Vegas defeated Navy veteran Harley Kulkin in the primary Tuesday night.
Flores enjoyed the support of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in her bid for lieutenant governor, whose primary job is to oversee tourism in Nevada.
In November, Flores is expected to face one of two Republicans from Las Vegas battling in a divisive GOP primary - state Sen. Mark Hutchison or former U.S. Senate hopeful Sue Lowden.
Hutchison had the backing of Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval while the state GOP officially endorsed Lowden.
