I will NEVER vote for a tax increase to pay the police officers. My rental home was damaged by a careless driver, and one week later I found out since there was 'police tape' around my unoccupied home. NO ONE bothered to find out who owned the home, I had to find out for myself that this happened. The Sheriff's department did not even bother to find out who owned the home to notify them, and this was 4 years ago. I will NEVER vote for a tax increase for them. They can't even do their job when they're fully staffed. Incompetent.
