LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- The World Cup is in high gear and Tavori Lockhart, a Las Vegas Make-A-Wish kid, will be making the trip.

Lockhart, 17, goes to school at Sierra Vista High and suffers from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a genetic heart disorder.

Lockhart says nothing will stop this him from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. "I'm very excited," Lockhart said.

The dream of experiencing soccer's ultimate tournament will become a reality for this Las Vegas teen.

"I use to play soccer when I was younger, and then when I found out I couldn't play any more I decided to go to the World Cup," Lockhart said.

It's an experience of a lifetime that Lockhart's mother, Clarissa Noe-Robles, wished for. She stresses Lockhart's life forever changed with his heart ailment. He no longer can do any strenuous activities.

"Soccer was everything to him. He can't play anymore, so it's a big deal," Noe-Robles said.

It's a dream the Make-A-Wish foundation loves making happen.

"It's transformational. It's really exciting to see it happen. The moment we get to meet him, the moment he leaves, and then they come back share the experience with us," said Make-A-Wish Foundation President Carolina Ciocca.

Lockhart will get the pleasure of traveling to Sao Paulo and Curitiba to see the once mighty Spanish team take on Australia. He then will witness Russia face Algeria.

"I'm looking forward to the games and just the people because I know there really excited what's going on in Brazil right now," Lockhart said.
