LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – A Las Vegas man who had been arrested in November on several marijuana-related charges, only to see the state drop the case, was taken into custody again by federal agents.
Members of the Southern Nevada SCORE Team, along with agents assigned to the FBI SWAT Team, arrested David Allen Garretson, 55, shortly after 6 a.m. today at a residence near the intersection of Windmill Lane and Placid Street.
Garretson was arrested on the federal charges of: conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, manufacture of a controlled substance, maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and aiding and abetting.
Garretson was previously arrested Nov. 5 on numerous state charges stemming from the service of a narcotics search warrant at his residence. In that investigation officers seized illegal narcotics with an estimated street value in excess of $600,000, along with 21 firearms and approximately $17,796.00 in U.S. currency.
The state charges were later dismissed to clear the way for the federal indictment.
