LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested a man suspected of firing shots this morning at security personnel at Circus Circus Hotel & Casino.
Joshua Olvera, 22, of Las Vegas was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and charged with three counts of attempted murder with a weapon and burglary with a weapon.
According to a news release, casino security officers on routine patrol inside of the Circus Circus parking garage had interrupted an auto burglary in progress. The suspect, Olvera, fled on foot and fired several rounds from a handgun at three security officers during his escape.
Circus Circus security officers did not return fire, and no one was injured during this incident just before 3 a.m. Security officers were able to maintain visual contact with Olvera and assisted Metro patrol officers in locating and identifying the suspect.
