LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Passengers at McCarran International Airport were unable to use two-thirds of the tram system to get to or from their aircraft today until repairs were made shortly after noon.
The entire tram system stopped working about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. They briefly resumed operation but went down again about 4 a.m.
Airport spokeswoman Christine Crews said the trams were repaired and back in full use as of 12:30 p.m.
Crews said the problem appeared to be electrical or mechanical but she did not know the details of what happened after the repairs were completed.
Two of the six trans were being operated manually as of late Sunday morning -- ones that go from Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 to the D gates.
The ones that are out are two trams that run from Terminal 1 to the D gates and two that run from Terminal 1 to the C gates.
A busing system was implemented to move other passengers to their destinations during the partial outage.
