LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Police are seeking the public's help in finding an "armed and dangerous" 27-year-old man wanted in the overnight fatal stabbing of a women.
The man sought is Nathan Benson. He is described as white, about 5-foot-5 and 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos depicting skulls on his right upper arm and the numbers "702" on his left upper arm.
The victim was identified this afternoon by the Clark County coroner's office as 44-year-old Shanna Ralston of Las Vegas. The cause of death was multiple stab and incise wounds while the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Metro said its call center received reports of a woman severely bleeding in the 6300 block of Greyhawk Avenue (Torrey Pines & Washington) about 12:10 a.m. today.
Officers responded to the area where they found a woman lying in the road suffering from apparent stab wounds. She was transported to UMC Trauma where she was later pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation indicated a physical altercation ensued between the victim and suspect which lead to the attack. The victim escaped from the suspect and was able to find assistance.
As a result of the investigation, detectives developed Benson as the suspect.
Metro said it believes Benson is armed and dangerous.
