LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said this afternoon that it has arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting Thursday night that left a man dead and a woman wounded.
The victims were found after gunfire was reported a little before 9:45 p.m. Thursday on Hopkins Drive, near Carey Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.
Darrell Fitzgerald, 28, of Las Vegas was charged with murder. Fitzgerald was present at the time of the incident and is considered a principal party to the homicide.
Terrence Renda McClodden, 29, of North Las Vegas was charged with discharging a firearm in or at a structure, battery with a deadly weapon and murder with a deadly weapon.
Both Fitzgerald and McClodden have extensive arrest records.
Metro detectives said that an altercation developed between the victims and suspects after the male victim, identified as Exavian Jones, 24, of Las Vegas, discharged a firearm into the air in “celebratory gunfire.”
During the confrontation McClodden also produced a hand gun and fired numerous rounds, striking and killing Jones and injuring the female victim.
