LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews) -- Las Vegas still reels from a violent and deadly Sunday.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials, including Sheriff Doug Gillespie, confirmed during a Monday news conference that:

  • Officers Igor Soldo and Alyn Beck were e gunned down execution-style about 11:30 p.m. Sunday as they ate lunch at the Ci-Ci's Pizza restaurant near Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue and in the northeast valley.

  • The assailants were Jerad and Amanda Miller, recent arrivals to Las Vegas from Indiana.

  • Minutes after leaving the restaurant, the Millers ran to a nearby Walmart.

  • Joseph Wilcox, 31, of Las Vegas, was in the checkout line when he saw Jerad Miller fire a shot. Wilcox, who legally carried a gun, attempted to confront Miller, unaware that Miller's wife was behind him.

  • She shot and killed Wilcox.

  • With officers converging on the shopping center, the Millers retreated to the back of the store.

  • A gun battle broke out, ending when Jerad Miller was killed by police and Amanda Miller then shot herself.

Much of that area around Nellis and Stewart is still being treated as a crime scene. Numerous police vehicles remain in the vicinity.
