LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a pair of homicides that occurred last this past week.

According to news releases, about 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Metro was notified of a possible deceased individual lying in an alleyway near the intersection of 10th Street and Stewart Avenue in downtown Las Vegas.

The victim is described as a white female adult approximately 55 years old, standing 5-foot-6 with a medium to heavy build, red hair and a scar on her left shoulder.

Just after 12:20 a.m. Friday, Metro received many calls indicating shots had been heard coming from an apartment complex in the area of the 2900 block of Sandy Lane in northeast Las Vegas. Responding officers discovered a black male adult deceased from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

A preliminary investigation conducted by Homicide Detectives indicates shortly after the victim had gone to the rear of his apartment to investigate a noise, shots were heard and he was discovered lying on the floor of the apartment. It appears the victim was shot through a window.

The identity of the deceased and the exact cause and manner of deaths will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with any information concerning these crimes is urged to contact the LVMPD Homicide section as (702) 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
