LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, area clergy and outreach workers will take part in a community outreach walk on Friday, August 31 to provide assistance to those in need.
The “See Something, Say Something Community Walk 2012” will begin at 6 p.m. on Cambridge Street and Twain Avenue. Representatives from at least a dozen agencies will fan out in the area of Shelter Island, Pinewood and Twain apartments to provide intervention and resources to people who suffer from addiction, homelessness or other quality of life issues.
The outreach walk ends at Molasky Park, 1065 E. Twain Ave., where people will gather at 7:30 p.m. for entertainment, food, toys for the kids and McGruff the Crime Fighting dog.
Representatives from LVMPD, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, WestCare, LV Urban League, Women’s Development Center, The Solutions Foundation, Catholic Charities, Nevada Health Center, U.S. Vets, Neighborhood Family Services, Salvation Army, Victory Outreach Church of LV and HELP of Southern Nevada will be there.
