LAS VEGAS --
Metro says it has recently received information about individuals showing up at the scene on non-injury accidents acting as investigating agents of the LVMPD.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has not contracted with any outside agencies to help investigate non-injury accidents because of a recent change in policy.
Metro stopped sending officers to non-injury accidents effective March 3.
Motorists are reminded that insurance companies provide investigative services when a driver is involved in a collision.
If you are involved in an accident remember to use resources such as pictures from a smartphone, disposable cameras, or various smartphone applications.
