Metro officers, Long Elementary students to present books

LAS VEGAS -- The LVMPD Downtown Area Command Community Oriented Policing Unit and staff and students from Walter Long Elementary School have teamed up as part of a child-to-child community project called Books 2 Smiles.

Participating students and staff from the school have engaged in authoring and publishing books for children. From 4 to 5 p.m. today, the officers and students will meet with representatives from East Valley Family Services who will distribute these books to children in need.

This event will take place at the Walter Long Elementary School, 2000 S. Walnut Road.
